WHAT?
IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback, or ‘MCN’, is a safe, revolutionary, technology that uses brain wave feedback to help the brain reboot itself. Due to environmental factors, stress, sickness or injuries, the brain can become unbalanced and brain waves can become fixed in patterns that produce brain-related disorders. MCN treatments use low-impact electrical signals (‘Micro Currents’) to help the brain create new patterns and alleviate common brain-related illnesses.

HOW?
Unlike traditional talk therapies, IASIS MCN produces a measurable change in the brainwaves without conscious effort from the individual receiving the feedback. The device, under the care of a trained IASIS MCN provider, uses an FDA registered EEG device that uses brief microcurrent stimulation to the nervous system, creating a temporary change in brainwaves. This allows for the delicate release of stuck patterns and rewire the brain where needed. This only shifts unhealthy and dysfunctional brain patterns—leaving healthy ones to continue as they are flexible in nature. The result is a shifted brainwave state and a much greater ability for the brain and nervous system to regulate itself. IASIS MCN is imperceptible to and requires no conscious effort by the client.

WHO?
Micro Current Neurofeedback can help people struggling with:

Brainspotting Protocol (BSP)
Brainspotting is a service both Daniel and Suzanne have added because many people want rapid, targeted support to bring themselves to optimal health and function.
Like Neurofeedback, Brainspotting harnesses the wisdom and resiliency in your neurology to foster change quickly and WITHOUT HAVING TO TELL THE STORY of what happened to you.
It is our goal to help you make the improvements that YOU define in your intake. We have people build a list of what they want to heal and we go through these things in sessions. We watch your “bad numbers” (that indicate areas of trauma or poor function) go from 7 – 10 all they way down to a 0, 1 or 2 (indicating healing or resiliency). Our goal is that the issues people are concerned about reduce or go away and they “graduate” from treatment. Old trauma, addiction, weight loss, low brain function, health issues, anxiety, chronic anger, shame and guilt, etc… By creating shifts in clear, predefined areas, people are able to balance key aspects of life, such as relationships, physical activity, career, joy and spirituality. They can stop worrying about the past and start feeling fulfilled. We wanted to provide this as an option for people who want sustainable health change in many areas. We LOVE what Brainspotting is doing for us personally!
You can work on virtually anything you choose to address. We like BSP because of the ease of implementation, efficacy and thereby the cost effectiveness for the client.

Meet Suzanne Mark and Dr. Daniel Sternberg
Neurofeedback is catching on in the Rogue Valley! What is all the excitement about? Dr. Daniel Sternberg, a licensed psychologist, and his wife and business partner, Suzanne Mark, opened Ashland Neurofeedback and Therapy in March of 2016 to address many issues quickly and efficiently with Microcurrent Neurofeedback and other customized approaches. As an early adapter of power therapies such as EMDR in the treatment of PTSD, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, etc., Daniel has added neurofeedback to help clients heal faster and with less intervention. Since 1999, Suzanne has worked with rapid release approaches one-on one, and has taught clients and clinicians internationally in English, Italian and Spanish.
Suzanne and Daniel researched neurofeedback as a complement to therapy, which led them to a kind of neurofeedback that works more quickly on many conditions. The reason for its success? Microcurrent. IASIS MCN (Micro Current Neurofeedback) is a ground-breaking, dynamic, non-invasive and highly effective technology now being researched at University of California at San Diego (UCSD). Researchers there are studying the effects of IASIS treatment/training on Marines with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and mild to moderate Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI). The preliminary study has been very promising.
After a head injury in 2009, Suzanne suffered with symptoms that she was unable to fully overcome. “Neurofeedback gave me my life back, so I am really committed to helping others. Daniel and I are inspired to help people by helping the brain change itself. The new studies in neuroplasticity are very encouraging. Your brain has the capacity to heal itself with the right tools. We have had personal experiences of this, as have our clients. It is very inspiring.”
It is not the goal of IASIS to intentionally treat symptoms. This is really an “un-training” that trains away the neurological stuck spots that correlate to many conditions. Symptom relief can occur as a desirable side effect.
When you come to us as a prospective client, we do a thorough assessment and intake and discuss your goals for treatment. We suggest a treatment plan based on how quickly you want to move, and together we continually re-evaluate your treatment as it progresses. You have an active role in assessing the changes that are happening and the goals that you are meeting. This is an important part of the process. As you observe and reflect the changes that are happening for you, it reinforces them.
Suzanne has also taught classes on emotional releasing at OLLI. “Daniel and I use a releasing protocol to help people let go of the emotional patterns that cause suffering. Since 1985, we have taught 1,000’s of people to let go of emotions and limiting beliefs to access the strength and peace within. These techniques are a great adjunct to neurofeedback.” Suzanne also speaks Spanish and Italian fluently and loves working with people of all cultures, orientations and ways of life.
